Hey, platformer pros! Now let’s put your skills to the matter with Vex 8. This game? It is a dynamic side-viewed ninja-style runner and jumper game where enemies and challenging game levels will not give you any seconds to breathe.
Imagine this: you are just lines, moving within the environment of unbearable platforms and spikes, ropes, and jumps in time. Sounds intense, right? In short it all comes down to fast fingers, good eye to hand coordination and craving of the levels!
In the beginning you jump small and have small rails and other challenging barriers. But before you know it, you are dodging bullets, jumping off ledges, sliding under circular saws, not to mention that you only have a limited amount of time. You know you’ve gotten through a difficult part of the game when you come out unscathed? Feels incredible!
Movement feels very well controlled; basic controls are arrow keys for moving around, jumping and sliding. The game is very easy to pick up, but the main refinement of the game is the ability to time the button inputs properly, and the fast reaction time required. Be prepared to use all brains to manage to get over the most difficult parts!
What is fascinating is that one can never get a boring experience every now and then shocking occurrences. At one moment you are jumping from platform to platform and in the next you are either avoiding moving obstacles or calculating when to time your wall jump. It really keeps you on your toes each level or rather leaves and right guessing there for general overviews!
Oh, and the visuals? A highly classic Vex style implying careful, bright and vigorous, clear sharp well animated traps with replay value. Seeing your character escape an obvious trap on the screen by a whisker? So satisfying!
The best part? It is still as action-packed as ever offering short levels that can be completed in under five minutes – or hundreds of hours of play if you’re an enthusiast aiming for a no death run. Great challenge and it is actually fun too!
The levels start getting absolutely nuts as you move forward to higher levels. Harder jumps, more traps. But beating the level, making it through without dying and doing it in a way faster time than before? So rewarding!
